This game simply cannot be missed by any one with an interest in turn-based strategy/RPG. You owe it to yourself to download this gem !

Love this game. The more I play, the more rewarding the game gets. Requires attention, precision, strategy. Getting the fleece becomes easy with practice, but earning all of the achievements is a very challenging task. 5 stars without reservations.

As soon as It starts up it crashes

Fun, engrossing and challenging. Even after you beat it, replayability is still high because each level is a bit different every time and so your strategy will be different.

One of a few games thats truly easy to learn and hard to master. I could never have imagined that turn based combat could ever feel so fluid. One the one hand I wish the developer could add more stuff, but on the other this game is so well tuned as it is, Im not sure what more can be added. Maybe a cheat mode where you can enable all your unlocked prayers at your leisure? Or some kind of arena/wave mode where youre in a massive map fighting off groups of spawning enemies with occasional breaks to get prayers? In any case, this is some good stuff.

But its really hard

This game is absolutely amazing, and very original. Should you guys get more popularity though, lower it to 1$.

It just crashes every time I try to open the app.

Hard to put down once you figured out the moves. Hard at first, it gets easier. A fresh new map every game. Do an online search for hoplite hints to learn basic moves etc. Most enjoyable way to kill a few minutes, like playing solitaire to pass the time.

I hope the developers do more.

I didnt think much of it at first, but what an amazing piece of simple, elegant design. Just enough options to offer variety, good balance, simple to learn, hard to beat, and fun to replay over and over.

So addicting and tough to put down. Quite simple to learn with a good tutorial but really hard to beat. Start from scratch every time you die but with a new map. At the higher levels you cant make one mistake without having to start all over again. Frustrating for sure but thats also what makes this game so classic and fun.

Of the literally hundreds of iOS games I have played over the last 5 years... This is by far one of my favourites. The well thought out "simple to learn/ hard to master" gameplay, no in-app-purchases, the achievement system unlocking new perks, the great pixel art and the easy to use interface all come together to make a game that for a year now I havent been able to put down. Hoplite is WELL worth the money.

Does not save progress! I closed the app at level 10 and when I opened it, I was back at level 1!

Simple structure, interesting set of basic possibilities, endless combinations, really intense combat. Cannot recommend more

Wonderful game, incredible depth and replayability achieved with very simple mechanics, a true gem of game design.

Really addictive and hard, but with a steady progress: each playthrough makes you understand more about games mechanics.

Deep variety of tactical and strategic choices, great replayability. No in-app purchases, annoying adds or any other downsides of iOS games. Fast sessions of turn based combat are ideal for short periods of time as well as for longer gaming. Would recommend this game to everyone!
